Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our caf&eacute; team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee and food items, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant caf&eacute; setting, engaging with customers and honing skills in food service and retail operations. Must have a Certificate of Food Protection or obtain one soon.Duties<ul><li>Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and consistency.</li><li>Operate POS systems such as Square for order processing and cash handling.</li><li>Take customer orders accurately, ensuring prompt service while maintaining excellent customer relations.</li><li>Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change efficiently.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation areas, counters, and seating areas in accordance with food safety regulations.</li><li>Assist with food preparation tasks including basic food handling, serving food items, and managing inventory levels.</li><li>Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.</li><li>Uphold food safety standards and proper food handling procedures at all times.</li><li>Support team members as needed to ensure smooth caf&eacute; operations.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proven experience as a Barista or in the food industry with strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques.</li><li>Familiarity with POS systems such as Square POS for efficient sales processing.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers.</li><li>Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders during peak hours smoothly.</li><li>Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing.</li><li>Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.</li><li>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.</li><li>Experience in serving, cashiering, or retail sales is preferred but not required.
