Animal Health Center Of Sherman is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are committed to providing high-quality veterinary care while creating a welcoming, supportive environment for both our clients and our staff.If you enjoy working with animals, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in providing excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you!Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.</li><li>Safely restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other companion animals.</li><li>Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.</li><li>Clean, disinfect, and maintain hospital equipment and workspaces.</li><li>Monitor, feed, and care for hospitalized patients.</li><li>Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.</li><li>Collect laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic testing.</li><li>Maintain accurate medical records.</li><li>Stock supplies and help maintain inventory.</li><li>Educate clients on basic pet care and post-treatment instructions.</li><li>Assist with reception duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking clients in and out when needed.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Previous veterinary assistant, kennel, or animal care experience is preferred but not required&mdash;we are willing to train the right candidate.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills.</li><li>Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.</li><li>Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.</li><li>Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.</li><li>Availability to work every other weekend on a rotating schedule.</li></ul>At Animal Health Center Of Sherman, we believe exceptional patient care starts with an exceptional team.
