We are expanding our team and seeking a dependable, organized, and patient-focused Referral Coordinator/Medical Assistant to help support our clinical and administrative operations.Job Overview: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator/Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position involves coordinating patient referrals, assisting with pre-authorizations, and supporting clinical staff with medical assistant duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about patient care.Key Responsibilities:Referral Coordination Duties:<ul><li>Coordinate inbound and outbound referrals from providers and specialists</li><li>Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies as needed</li><li>Ensure all necessary medical records and imaging are gathered for appointments</li><li>Track referral statuses and follow up as necessary to ensure timely care</li><li>Serve as a liaison between referring offices, providers, and patients</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system</li></ul>Medical Assistant Duties:<ul><li>Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake (vitals, history, etc.)</li><li>Document patient information accurately into the EHR</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and stock medical supplies in exam rooms</li><li>Provide patient education and after-visit instructions as directed by practitioners</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>At least 1&ndash;2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in surgical specialty/neurosurgery</li><li>Experience handling referrals is required</li><li>Experience with authorizations and insurance verification is a strong plus</li><li>Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems</li><li>Strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills</li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required</li></ul>What We Offer:<ul><li>Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)</li><li>Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays</li><li>Health, dental, and vision insurance options</li><li>Supportive team culture and growth opportunities</li><li>Hands-on training in a fast-paced, high-level specialty environment</li></ul>Apply Today: If you're passionate about healthcare and want to make a meaningful impact in patients' lives, we encourage you to apply!
