We are expanding our team and seeking a dependable, organized, and patient-focused Referral Coordinator/Medical Assistant to help support our clinical and administrative operations.

Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator/Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position involves coordinating patient referrals, assisting with pre-authorizations, and supporting clinical staff with medical assistant duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Referral Coordination Duties:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound referrals from providers and specialists
  • Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies as needed
  • Ensure all necessary medical records and imaging are gathered for appointments
  • Track referral statuses and follow up as necessary to ensure timely care
  • Serve as a liaison between referring offices, providers, and patients
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system

Medical Assistant Duties:

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake (vitals, history, etc.)
  • Document patient information accurately into the EHR
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock medical supplies in exam rooms
  • Provide patient education and after-visit instructions as directed by practitioners

Qualifications:

  • At least 1–2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in surgical specialty/neurosurgery
  • Experience handling referrals is required
  • Experience with authorizations and insurance verification is a strong plus
  • Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
