Our growing law firm is seeking a FULL TIME, highly motivated, very positive, competent, and skilled LEGAL ASSISTANT / SECRETARY to fill a long-term career position. This individual must be confident, self-motivated, detail-oriented, invested in his/her career with highly developed people skills, and a go-getter attitude. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are required. Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure is a must.Duties and Responsibilities:&middot; Professionally interact with potential new clients, active and former clients, adjusters, physician staff, opposing counsel, and Court personnel&middot; Perform intake screening for potential new clients&middot; Professionally communicate with client regarding case status, upcoming Court appearances, medical treatments, etc.&middot; Opening and closing case files&middot; Organizing and maintaining electronic case files&middot; Request medical records and bills and follow-up on requests&middot; Review and synopsize medical records&middot; Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills are required for accurate and timely transcriptions and document production&middot; Ability to handle electronic filing and legal document production such as pleadings and correspondence under the guidance of an attorney&middot; Coordinate and prepare all Notices of Hearings, Depositions, Mediations, etc., under the guidance of an attorney&middot; Maintain and manage all aspects of litigation calendar and database management systems&middot; Planning and scheduling meetings and appointments&middot; Monitor all deadlines&middot; Maintain and preserve important legal documents, including scanning and indexing in case management software&middot; All general clerical functions&middot; Ability to collaborate and contribute as a team member&middot; Must maintain a professional attitude and appearanceEducation and Experience Requirements:&middot; Requires a college degree&middot; Previous experience as a Legal Assistant and/or Legal Secretary is preferred but not required&middot; Legal studies certification is a plus but not required&middot; Must have a minimum typing speed of 65-75 wpm.
