Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Dispatcher, where you will be the vital link ensuring seamless, safe, and timely transportation services for patients requiring non-emergency medical travel. In this energetic role, you will coordinate rides, communicate with drivers and healthcare providers, and utilize advanced dispatching tools to optimize routes and schedules. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help improve patient experiences while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage incoming transportation requests via multi-line phone systems, ensuring prompt and courteous phone etiquette.</li><li>Use GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology to plan efficient routes for non-emergency medical trips.</li><li>Coordinate with drivers, healthcare facilities, law enforcement, and patients to schedule pickups and drop-offs accurately.</li><li>Conduct phone triage to assess patient needs, confirm appointment details, and provide clear instructions.</li><li>Maintain detailed data entry and transcription records of all dispatch activities, trip logs, and incident reports with precision.</li><li>Apply analysis skills to troubleshoot scheduling conflicts or delays proactively, adjusting plans as needed.</li><li>Ensure compliance with security protocols while managing sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Previous EMT experience or background in emergency medical services is highly desirable.</li><li>Strong knowledge of medical terminology, first aid procedures, and basic health protocols.</li><li>Experience with dispatching systems, GPS navigation tools, and multi-line phone operations.</li><li>Excellent communication skills with a professional phone manner and conflict management abilities.</li><li>Demonstrated typing speed and data entry accuracy; familiarity with transcription is a plus.</li><li>Ability to analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.</li><li>Knowledge of law enforcement procedures or experience working alongside first responders is advantageous.
