Responsibilities
- Manage incoming transportation requests via multi-line phone systems, ensuring prompt and courteous phone etiquette.
- Use GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology to plan efficient routes for non-emergency medical trips.
- Coordinate with drivers, healthcare facilities, law enforcement, and patients to schedule pickups and drop-offs accurately.
- Conduct phone triage to assess patient needs, confirm appointment details, and provide clear instructions.
- Maintain detailed data entry and transcription records of all dispatch activities, trip logs, and incident reports with precision.
- Apply analysis skills to troubleshoot scheduling conflicts or delays proactively, adjusting plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols while managing sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Previous EMT experience or background in emergency medical services is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, first aid procedures, and basic health protocols.
- Experience with dispatching systems, GPS navigation tools, and multi-line phone operations.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional phone manner and conflict management abilities.
- Demonstrated typing speed and data entry accuracy; familiarity with transcription is a plus.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures or experience working alongside first responders is advantageous.
