Job Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction projects. A strong working knowledge of JobPro is required to effectively manage purchasing workflows, maintain accurate records, and support job costing and inventory tracking.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Procure construction materials and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner to support project schedules.</li><li>Utilize JobPro to:</li><li>Create and manage purchase orders</li><li>Track inventory and deliveries</li><li>Monitor project budgets and job costing</li><li>Maintain supplier and vendor records</li><li>Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and estimators to determine material requirements.</li><li>Solicit and review quotes from vendors and suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.</li><li>Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance.</li><li>Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and quality standards.</li><li>Monitor material usage and coordinate with warehouse/logistics for timely deliveries to job sites.</li><li>Address and resolve any issues related to delays, shortages, or quality concerns.</li><li>Assist with budget tracking and cost control by analyzing purchasing data.</li><li>Support documentation and reporting needs for audits and internal reviews.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in the construction industry.</li><li>Proficiency in JobPro software is required.</li><li>Strong negotiation and analytical skills.</li><li>Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time-management skills.</li><li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.</li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience with job costing and inventory management.</li><li>Knowledge of construction project lifecycles and timelines.</li><li>Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).</li></ul>Compensation:<ul><li>Competitive salary based on experience</li><li>Dental and vision insurance</li><li>Paid time off and holidays</li><li>Opportunities for advancement</li></ul>To Apply:Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and proficiency with JobPro.Job Type: Full-timePay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per yearPeople with a criminal record are encouraged to applyWork Location: In person
