This paid position offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, friendly environment dedicated to excellence in general and pediatric dentistry.Duties<ul><li>Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques.</li><li>Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments by handing instruments and managing dental supplies.</li><li>Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.</li><li>Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.</li><li>Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for documentation of procedures, medical coding, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.</li><li>Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.</li><li>Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and ensuring smooth clinic flow.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.</li><li>Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical records management is a plus.</li><li>Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.</li><li>Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality.</li><li>Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience assisting with pediatric patients is preferred.</li><li>Competence in taking vital signs, medical imaging, and supporting endodontic or prosthodontic treatments.</li><li>Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient interactions; ability to explain procedures clearly.</li><li>Certification in dental assisting or related training; familiarity with 3D scanners and medical coding is advantageous.
