Only serious applicants should apply.www.carolinaforestdentist.comWe are a team-oriented practice that does all things together!Benefits can be discussed with the office manager.Duties:<ul><li>Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures</li><li>Taking dental radiographs (x-rays)</li><li>Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse</li><li>Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment</li><li>Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment</li><li>Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)</li><li>Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)</li><li>Communicating with patients</li><li>Organizing and stocking operatories, sterilization, the lab and the supply closet</li><li>Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery</li><li>Assist in basic supportive chairside procedures</li><li>Chart existing restorations, clinically missing teeth, and appliances within the oral cavity</li><li>Apply topical drugs as prescribed by the dentist</li><li>Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, etc.)</li><li>Expose radiographs upon completion of a Board approved radiation safety course</li><li>Take impressions/digital scans for study models</li><li>Cement temporary crowns or bridges</li><li>Remove excess cement from restorations</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Dependent health insurance coverage</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Uniform allowance</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Dental assisting: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>degree/certificate from an ADA-accredited program (Required)</li><li>X-Ray Certification in the state of South Carolina SC (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
