Hourly wage is determined by experience.Position SummaryThe Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in all daily pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate prescription processing, exceptional customer service, and smooth workflow in a small, neighborhood-focused environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and comfort working closely with both customers and a small team.Key ResponsibilitiesPrescription Processing &amp; Dispensing<ul><li>Receive, enter, and update prescriptions in the pharmacy system.</li><li>Print labels and prepare medications for pharmacist verification.</li><li>Count, measure, package, and label medications under pharmacist supervision.</li><li>Assist the pharmacist with refill requests, prior authorizations, and prescription transfers.</li><li>Maintain accuracy and compliance with New York State pharmacy regulations.</li></ul>Customer Service &amp; Front-of-Store Support<ul><li>Greet customers, answer phone calls, and handle general inquiries.</li><li>Assist customers with OTC (over-the-counter) product selection and recommendations within permitted scope.</li><li>Process sales transactions, insurance claims, and co-pays.</li><li>Build friendly, long-term relationships with community customers.</li></ul>Inventory &amp; Stock Management<ul><li>Receive, unpack, and verify medication and supply orders.</li><li>Restock shelves, rotate inventory, and monitor expiration dates.</li><li>Communicate shortages or out-of-stock items to the pharmacist/owner.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized workspace typical of a small community shop.</li></ul>Administrative Duties<ul><li>Maintain patient records with confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).</li><li>Manage insurance rejections and troubleshoot billing issues.</li><li>Assist the pharmacist in maintaining logs, reports, and compliance documentation.</li><li>Help with small-shop tasks (e.g., tidying, organizing front shelves).</li></ul>Work Environment<ul><li>Family-run, community-focused NYC pharmacy.</li><li>Close teamwork with the pharmacist/owner.</li><li>Frequent interaction with long-term neighborhood customers.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hourWork Location: In person
