Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or GED</li><li>Pass a background check with no felony convictions or pending charges</li><li>Obtain and maintain required certifications - CPR, T-CPR, IDACS, EMD, LED, AND FED</li><li>Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Mandatory attendance may be required for coverage during community and natural disasters</li></ul>TYPICAL DUTIES<ul><li>Receives all incoming telephone calls for emergency law enforcement, fire, and EMS services in Benton County</li><li>Receives incoming non-emergency calls and routes to the proper authority or provides caller with requested information</li><li>Monitors, receives, and broadcasts calls on multiple radio frequencies; dispatches required units according to established procedure</li><li>Maintains communications with all law enforcement and other emergency units operating within the boundaries of Benton County</li><li>Operate the IDACS/NCIC computer system</li></ul>Knowledge, Skillls, Abilities, &amp; Other<ul><li>Extensive knowledge of county geography</li><li>Knowledge of telephone answering techniques, radio dispatching policies and procedures</li><li>Knowledge of governmental agencies and community service agencies at a sufficient level to direct callers to the appropriate authority</li><li>Ability to communicate verbally in a distinct, clear, concise, and controlled manner in a wide variety of circumstances with good diction in a well-modulated voice</li><li>Ability to simultaneously communicate, interpret communications, and enter data into a computer terminal with speed and accuracy</li><li>Ability to react quickly and calmly in a variety of life threatening and emergency situations</li><li>Ability to sit for long periods of time</li><li>Ability to work any shift</li><li>Ability to handle irate and hysterical callers in a calm, courteous, and professional manner</li><li>Ability to work under stress and to exercise discretion and independent judgement in a variety of situations</li></ul>SCHEDULE<ul><li>Hours are 6p-6a EST</li><li>2-2-3 Schedule</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $45,000.00 - $53,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
