This position typically performs basic administrative tasks; and deals courteously and effectively with fellow employees and citizens.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>
Transports all library materials and mail among library locations and affiliated offices on a regular basis.</li><li>
Sorts, packs, and loads deliveries properly and follows an established schedule to ensure timely transport.</li><li>
Transports the mobile computer lab between library locations according to where classes for the public are being held.</li><li>
Transport recyclable materials to the recycling center from the library.</li><li>
Take documents for shredding to the Records Management Department.</li></ul><ul><li>
Cleans and fuels the library van and ensures it is taken to the county&rsquo;s vehicle maintenance garage for scheduled maintenance.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent;</li><li>
One (1) year of related administrative experience;</li></ul>
Special Requirements:<ul><li>
Must have and maintain a valid driver&rsquo;s license for South Carolina with safe driving record;</li><li>
Departmental testing may be administered during interview;</li><li>
A criminal background check will be completed on selected applicant if a current one (less than 3 years old) is not on file.</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>
Knowledge of the principles and practices of excellent customer service.</li><li>
Skill in handling multiple priorities and organizing workload; sorting mail with accuracy and speed, operating mail office equipment, and making simple mathematical computations.</li><li>
Ability to maintain and secure confidential materials.</li><li>
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.</li><li>
Ability to manage inventory and property.</li><li>
Ability to use small office equipment.</li></ul>
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

The work is regularly performed in a relatively safe, secure and stable work environment. This position will not exceed twenty-nine (29) hours per week. Normal schedule is twenty (20) hours per week between the hours of 9:00am and 7:00pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00am and 5:00pm Friday and Saturday. Scheduled hours/days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations.</div>
