Position OverviewThe Seasonal Art Camp Assistant supports the Lead Art Camp Instructor during Bloomfield Arts &amp; Crafts Studio&rsquo;s summer camp program. This role is ideal for high school students (16+) or recent graduates who enjoy working with children and have foundational art skills.The Assistant helps facilitate daily art activities, support classroom management, prepare materials, and maintain a positive, structured camp environment.This is a temporary, seasonal position that concludes at the end of the summer camp program.Core ResponsibilitiesCamper Support &amp; Creative Reinforcement<ul><li>Assist the Lead Instructor with daily art projects for campers ages 5 and up</li><li>Provide one-on-one support during painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and craft activities</li><li>Help younger campers follow instructions and stay engaged</li><li>Encourage creativity, confidence, and positive participation</li><li>Reinforce instructions and expectations set by the Lead Instructor</li></ul>Classroom Management &amp; Safety<ul><li>Help supervise campers during activities, transitions, and breaks</li><li>Support enforcement of camp rules and behavior expectations</li><li>Ensure safe handling of art tools and materials</li><li>Alert the Lead Instructor or Camp Lead of any concerns</li></ul>Studio Setup &amp; Clean-Up<ul><li>Prepare art stations and materials before sessions</li><li>Distribute supplies efficiently and safely</li><li>Guide campers through structured clean-up routines</li><li>Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the studio</li></ul>Parent &amp; Camper Interaction<ul><li>Greet campers and families in a friendly, professional manner</li><li>Support campers who need reassurance or redirection</li><li>Share brief highlights with Lead Instructor when needed</li></ul>Team Collaboration<ul><li>Work closely with Lead Instructors and Camp Leadership</li><li>Attend required training and staff meetings</li><li>Remain flexible and responsive to daily schedule adjustments</li><li>Model professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum age: 16 years old</li><li>High school student (Junior/Senior) or recent graduate preferred</li><li>Basic art skills required (painting, drawing, or general crafting)</li><li>Previous experience working with children preferred (babysitting, volunteering, camps, church programs, etc.)</li><li>Patient, responsible, energetic, and safety-conscious</li><li>Able to take direction and work as part of a team</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>This position is seasonal and temporary, ending automatically at the conclusion of the summer camp season</li><li>Continued employment beyond the summer season is not guaranteed</li><li>Must be available for required pre-camp training</li><li>Hours vary based on the camp schedule</li></ul>Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hourWork Location: In person
