Our team and clients are distributed across the globe. Read more about Blue Fox services on our website.ROLE &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES Client Leadership &amp; Advisory<ul><li>Be the financial guru for up to 15 clients (AKA your &ldquo;client den&rdquo;) and a trusted nonprofit financial advisor.</li><li>Deliver top-tier accounting and advisory services with warmth, clarity, and professionalism.</li><li>Present monthly financial statements (Statement of Activities, Statement of Financial Position, and more) with clear, actionable insights.</li><li>Support leadership teams in understanding financial performance and making informed decisions.</li></ul>Nonprofit Accounting &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Manage and review fund accounting, including net asset classifications and donor restrictions.</li><li>Oversee grant tracking and reporting, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.</li><li>Ensure accuracy and compliance across all financial reporting in alignment with nonprofit standards.</li><li>Lead audit preparation and support Form 990 readiness, coordinating with external auditors and tax preparers.</li><li>Maintain awareness of nonprofit regulatory requirements and best practices.</li></ul>Financial Operations &amp; Planning<ul><li>Lead month-end and year-end close processes: reconcile, review, and deliver clean, reliable financials.</li><li>Support program-based budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning tied to funding sources.</li><li>Collaborate with client sales and philanthropy teams (aka the revenue wizards) to align financial strategy with funding pipelines.</li><li>Manage client banking relationships and support treasury management.</li></ul>Team Leadership &amp; Collaboration<ul><li>Mentor and support your client accounting team &ndash; think &ldquo;coach,&rdquo; not &ldquo;boss.&rdquo;</li><li>Review team output for accuracy, completeness, and continuous improvement.</li><li>Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented team environment.</li></ul>Systems &amp; Innovation<ul><li>Champion financial technology and automation &ndash; work smarter, not harder.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and client experience through systems and tools.</li></ul>KEY PERSONALITY TRAITS FOR SUCCESS <ul><li>Kindness and honesty &ndash; non-negotiable (we keep it drama-free!)</li><li>Humility &ndash; it&rsquo;s okay to ask for help (really, we encourage it!).</li><li>Love of data &ndash; numbers nerds, welcome!</li><li>Commitment to clients and team first &ndash; teamwork makes the dream work.</li><li>Mission-driven mindset &ndash; you care about impact, not just income statements.</li><li>Sense of humor &ndash; because accounting is fun (or at least, we make it fun!).</li><li>Problem-solving skills &ndash; think like MacGyver, but with spreadsheets.</li><li>Passion for automation &ndash; work smarter, not harder!</li></ul>SKILLS &amp; EXPERIENCE <ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or higher in accounting or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of accounting experience (client management experience = bonus points!).</li><li>Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting, including fund accounting, net asset classifications, and donor restrictions.</li><li>Experience with grant tracking, compliance, and reporting.</li><li>Experience supporting or leading audit preparation and Form 990 processes.</li><li>CPA or EA preferred (but not required &ndash; we love smart, experienced people!).</li><li>QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification (basic) required; Advanced preferred.</li><li>BILL and Gusto certification a plus.</li><li>Advanced Excel and Office365 skills (pivot tables are your jam!).</li><li>Experience with forecasting tools like FathomHQ, Syft, or similar.</li><li>Strong organizational and leadership skills (herding accountants = your superpower!).</li><li>Excellent communication and writing skills (bonus points for witty emails!).</li></ul>THE APPLICATION PROCESS As part of your application, we ask that you submit a short video (2&ndash;3 minutes) introducing yourself and answering the following 3 questions:<ul><li>Tell us about your nonprofit accounting experience - what types of organizations have you worked with?</li><li>How do you explain complex financial information to non-financial leaders?</li><li>What does your ideal team dynamic look like, and how do you approach mentoring others?</li></ul>This is your chance to let your personality shine.
