We bring people together through culture, creativity, and unforgettable event experiences &mdash; and we&rsquo;re looking for a motivated intern who wants hands-on experience in event marketing, communications, and community engagement.Position OverviewThe Marketing &amp; Communications Intern will support Bold Hat&rsquo;s marketing director in developing and executing content across social media, vendor communications, and volunteer programs for our summer events. This role is ideal for a student or emerging professional seeking real-world experience in marketing, event production, communications, and nonprofit/community engagement.You&rsquo;ll gain hands-on skills in content creation, brand communications, customer engagement, and event operations &mdash; all while helping make some of Seattle&rsquo;s most iconic summer festivals come to life.Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media &amp; Content Creation (B2C)<ul><li>Assist in developing social media content for Bold Hat&rsquo;s core events, including Fremont Fair and Kirkland Uncorked</li><li>Draft captions, curate photos/video assets, and support real-time content coverage during event weekends</li><li>Schedule posts across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and help monitor engagement</li><li>Support brand voice development and brainstorm creative content ideas that resonate with 21&ndash;35 year-old audiences</li></ul>Vendor &amp; Partner Communications (B2B)<ul><li>Help manage B2B communications with participating vendors and exhibitors at Fremont Fair and Kirkland Uncorked</li><li>Draft and organize vendor newsletters, updates, deadlines, and operational instructions</li><li>Field vendor inquiries and coordinate logistics information with the event operations team</li><li>Assist with organizing onboarding materials and pre-event communication packets</li></ul>Volunteer Program Coordination<ul><li>Support recruitment and scheduling of volunteers for summer festivals</li><li>Manage volunteer communications, confirmations, and shift reminders</li><li>Assist with on-site volunteer check-in and hospitality during event weekends</li><li>Help document volunteer participation for post-event reporting and community impact summaries</li></ul>General Event Support<ul><li>Assist with various pre-event projects such as signage prep, sponsor deliverables, and administrative tasks</li><li>Participate in on-site production during event weekends (Fremont Fair, Kirkland Uncorked, etc.)</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, event management, public relations, or a related field</li><li>Strong writing, editing, and communication skills</li><li>Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content principles</li><li>Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously</li><li>A collaborative mindset with willingness to jump in where needed</li><li>Comfort working on-site at outdoor events, sometimes on weekends</li><li>Bonus: Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, social media management tools, or photography/videography</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Gain<ul><li>Real-world experience building content for large-scale community events</li><li>Hands-on exposure to both B2C and B2B marketing environments</li><li>Experience managing volunteer and vendor communications</li><li>Portfolio-building opportunities in social media and event marketing</li><li>Mentorship from Bold Hat&rsquo;s marketing leadership</li><li>A front-row seat to how Seattle&rsquo;s largest summer festivals come together</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Schedule<ul><li>This is a paid internship</li><li>Internship runs from late May 2026 through August 2026</li><li>Hybrid schedule with a mix of remote work, in-office check-ins, and on-site event days</li><li>Expected 15&ndash;25 hours per week, with additional hours available during event weekends</li></ul>Pay: $22.00 per hourExpected hours: 15.0 &ndash; 25.0 per weekApplication Question(s):<ul><li>What is major are you currently pursuing?</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Seattle, WA 98103
