Position Overview

The Marketing & Communications Intern will support Bold Hat’s marketing director in developing and executing content across social media, vendor communications, and volunteer programs for our summer events. • Schedule posts across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and help monitor engagement
  • Support brand voice development and brainstorm creative content ideas that resonate with 21–35 year-old audiences

  • Manage volunteer communications, confirmations, and shift reminders
  • Assist with on-site volunteer check-in and hospitality during event weekends
  • Help document volunteer participation for post-event reporting and community impact summaries

General Event Support

  • Assist with various pre-event projects such as signage prep, sponsor deliverables, and administrative tasks
  • Participate in on-site production during event weekends (Fremont Fair, Kirkland Uncorked, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, event management, public relations, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content principles
  • Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A collaborative mindset with willingness to jump in where needed
  • Comfort working on-site at outdoor events, sometimes on weekends
  • Bonus: Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, social media management tools, or photography/videography

What You’ll Gain

  • Real-world experience building content for large-scale community events
  • Hands-on exposure to both B2C and B2B marketing environments
  • Experience managing volunteer and vendor communications
  • Portfolio-building opportunities in social media and event marketing
  • Mentorship from Bold Hat’s marketing leadership
  • A front-row seat to how Seattle’s largest summer festivals come together
