In this role, you'll combine your passion for eye health with your sales expertise to provide exceptional service, assist with frame selections, and support clinical procedures. This paid position offers a vibrant environment where your skills in optical care, retail sales, and medical knowledge come together to make a real difference.Duties<ul><li>Greet patients and customers warmly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.</li><li>Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses that suit their style, needs, and prescription requirements.</li><li>Conduct basic eye assessments, including measuring vital signs related to vision health and performing preliminary tests.</li><li>Support the clinical team with laboratory tasks such as lens fitting, adjustments, and maintaining aseptic techniques during procedures.</li><li>Obtain, explain and submit patient insurance.</li><li>Manage patient records accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Epic or similar platforms while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.</li><li>Educate patients on proper eyewear care, medical terminology related to eye health, and the importance of regular check-ups.</li><li>Support retail sales initiatives by applying retail math skills to optimize inventory and sales performance while providing excellent customer service.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Prior experience in optical or retail sales environments is highly preferred; familiarity with optical experience or laboratory work is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of ophthalmology concepts including anatomy of the eye, physiology, and medical terminology related to vision health.</li><li>Understanding of medical billing, coding, and medical records management to support clinical documentation processes.</li><li>Ability to operate EMR systems such as Epic or other healthcare software efficiently.</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and professionally.</li><li>Experience with vital signs measurement and basic clinic procedures; knowledge of HIPAA compliance is essential.</li><li>Knowledge of health and vision insurance benefits.</li></ul>Pay: $24.22 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
