Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic High School Mathematics Tutor to inspire and empower students in their academic journey. In this role, you will deliver engaging, personalized instruction in various math disciplines, including algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, statistics, and discrete math. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while honing your teaching skills in a supportive environment.PA Teaching certification is mandatory.Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop customized lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet individual student needs across multiple math topics</li><li>Utilize innovative learning technologies to enhance understanding and engagement during tutoring sessions.</li><li>Deliver clear explanations of complex concepts of algebra, geometry etc.</li><li>Manage classroom dynamics effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and curiosity.</li><li>Assess student progress regularly through formative assessments and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.</li><li>Foster a supportive atmosphere for students working with diverse learning styles and backgrounds, including those in special education or early childhood education programs.</li><li>Maintain detailed records of tutoring sessions, student progress reports, and lesson plans to ensure consistent quality of instruction.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Prior experience tutoring or teaching high school students in mathematics or related STEM fields such as physics or biology is highly desirable.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that covers algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, statistics, discrete math, and other advanced topics.</li><li>Strong computer skills with familiarity in educational software tools and online learning platforms.</li><li>Experience working with children or adolescents in classroom settings or one-on-one tutoring environments.</li><li>Knowledge of classroom management techniques that promote engagement and discipline while fostering a love for learning.</li><li>Background in higher education teaching or specialized fields like mechanical engineering or biochemistry is a plus.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex ideas to students with varying levels of understanding.
