About the RoleCal-Mar Foods is a family-owned and operated food logistics and export company based in Oakland, CA. We are seeking a full-time Purchasing &amp; Operations Assistant to support daily purchasing, scheduling, inventory tracking, record keeping, and administrative coordination tasks. The position will work closely with the General Manager and Lead Purchaser, supporting the day-to-day operations. This role focuses on organization, follow-through, and clear communication with vendors, partners, and internal teams.The office is a modular container office located near the Port of Oakland with hybrid work flexibility following the training and onboarding period.Responsibilities<ul><li>Organize, verify, and save purchase orders and related documentation</li><li>Communicate with vendors regarding deliveries, discrepancies, and claims</li><li>Assist with booking freight, tracking shipments, and following up on delivery updates</li><li>Assist with receiving documentation and inventory management</li><li>Maintain organized digital filing systems (Dropbox and shared drives)</li><li>Communicate purchasing updates with related parties</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills</li><li>Clear written and verbal communication</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage routine tasks responsibly</li><li>Experience in logistics, purchasing, or supply chain is a plus but not required</li></ul>We are open to training someone who is dependable, organized, and interested in developing long-term operational skills.
