Position Summary: We are seeking skilled and patient-centered PRN Registered Nurses with experience in Pre-Operative, PACU, and/or Operating Room nursing to support our GI surgery services in a fast-paced AAAASF accredited outpatient surgery center. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and experienced in caring for patients undergoing endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures.Key Responsibilities:Pre-Op / PACU Responsibilities:<ul><li>Conduct comprehensive pre-operative admission for GI surgery patients</li><li>Initiate IV access, administer medications, and ensure proper patient preparation</li><li>Monitor patients during recovery from moderate sedation or general anesthesia</li><li>Assess airway, hemodynamic stability, pain, nausea, and surgical sites</li><li>Document patient care accurately in compliance with AAAASF standards</li></ul>OR Responsibilities:<ul><li>Circulate and/or scrub for GI procedures (e.g., SADI, gastric sleeve)</li><li>Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and maintenance of sterile technique</li><li>Support surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures</li><li>Ensure proper handling of specimens, implants, and specialized equipment</li><li>Assist with room turnover and timely case starts</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Active RN license in the state of North Carolina</li><li>Minimum of 1&ndash;2 years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU/OR GI Surgery settings (ASC experience preferred)</li><li>Current BLS certification required; ACLS required for Pre-Op/PACU positions</li><li>Experience with moderate sedation, airway monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery</li><li>Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and patient education skills</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities</li></ul>Why Join Us?<ul><li>Daytime hours with flexible PRN scheduling - currently seeking availability to assist with 2-3 Thursdays/month </li><li>Collaborative, supportive outpatient environment</li><li>Opportunity to work with specialized GI surgery team</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timeBase Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Opportunities for advancement</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>healthcare: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Cary, NC 27513 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
