Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled and patient-centered PRN Registered Nurses with experience in Pre-Operative, PACU, and/or Operating Room nursing to support our GI surgery services in a fast-paced AAAASF accredited outpatient surgery center. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and experienced in caring for patients undergoing endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Op / PACU Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative admission for GI surgery patients
- Initiate IV access, administer medications, and ensure proper patient preparation
- Monitor patients during recovery from moderate sedation or general anesthesia
- Assess airway, hemodynamic stability, pain, nausea, and surgical sites
- Document patient care accurately in compliance with AAAASF standards
OR Responsibilities:
- Circulate and/or scrub for GI procedures (e.g., SADI, gastric sleeve)
- Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and maintenance of sterile technique
- Support surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures
- Ensure proper handling of specimens, implants, and specialized equipment
- Assist with room turnover and timely case starts
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU/OR GI Surgery settings (ASC experience preferred)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS required for Pre-Op/PACU positions
- Experience with moderate sedation, airway monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and patient education skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Base Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
