Summary: The primary role of the Thrift Store &amp; Operations Support Supervisor is to support the Director of Operations through the execution of various warehouse tasks including supervision of our Warehouse Associates, staging the warehouse for an optimal shopping experience, pricing new inventory as it arrives,assisting customers, scheduling donation pick-up and deliveries, and testing electronic donations while representing the organization in a professional manner. The Thrift Store &amp; Operations Support Supervisor will also assist in keeping the building and grounds of Caring &amp; Sharing clean and orderly. Additionally, this position will support the organization with volunteer training activities and outside events as needed. The Thrift Store &amp; Operations Support Supervisor inspires the employees and volunteers of Caring &amp; Sharing to embrace our core values.Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities Thrift Store Support:<ul><li>Schedule and facilitate pick up of donations and deliveries of all furniture and large donations.</li><li>Assume responsibility of the Warehouse Associates for job accuracy and effectiveness.</li><li>Distribution of merchandise to various areas of the warehouse or building for further sorting and pricing.</li><li>Staging merchandise in an orderly, concise fashion.</li><li>Pricing donated merchandise.</li><li>Interacting and selling merchandise to the customers.</li><li>Assist customers with loading purchases and unloading donations from their vehicles.</li><li>Write sales tickets for customers as needed.</li><li>Set up deliveries and handle phone calls for donation pick-ups.</li><li>Testing of all electronic donations for workability.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, uncluttered area behind warehouse counters.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and neat warehouse floor.</li><li>Follow safety procedures, utilize safety gear, and wear appropriate warehouse attire.</li></ul>Food Pantry Support: <ul><li>Staging materials for food distribution - three days a week.</li><li>Preparing and organizing sheds ahead of USDA deliveries.</li><li>Managing volunteers and placement of USDA food during twice per month deliveries.</li><li>Support pantry volunteers during bag packing by stocking and preparing the pantry.</li></ul>Building, &amp; Grounds Maintenance: <ul><li>Keep the warehouse area clean and uncluttered.</li><li>Keep the front entry of the Thrifts Store neat, clean, and organized.</li><li>Help keep the parking areas and grounds clean and free of debris.</li><li>Assist in completing all end of day procedures.</li></ul>Other Duties <ul><li>Must be acquainted with other roles such as cash register, food pantry, etc.</li><li>May be asked to perform additional responsibilities for the Sorting Room or Pantry.</li></ul> Required Qualifications: <ul><li>High school graduate or GED.</li><li>Dependable transportation.</li><li>Valid Driver&rsquo;s License.</li><li>Retail and staging experience.</li><li>Minimum of one year experience in a leadership role.</li></ul>Desired Qualifications: <ul><li>Experience working in a sorting room or warehouse.</li><li>Customer service experience.</li><li>Experience working with volunteers.</li><li>Experience overseeing volunteers.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed in Order to be Successful in this position: <ul><li>Self-motivated.</li><li>Attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to effectively work as a member of a team.</li><li>Ability to motivate and encourage others.</li><li>Ability to sort through inventory efficiently.</li><li>Willingness to follow and implement directives.</li><li>Willingness to embrace the organization's mission.</li><li>Ability to manage time and tasks in a timely and effective manner.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff and volunteers.</li><li>Ability to address customers and clients in a polite and respectful manner.</li><li>Maintains safety requirements</li></ul>Working Conditions: Caring and Sharing of South Walton functions as a warehouse and retail shop. The workplace setting is both in and outside of the warehouse.
