Summary: The primary role of the Thrift Store & Operations Support Supervisor is to support the Director of Operations through the execution of various warehouse tasks including supervision of our Warehouse Associates, staging the warehouse for an optimal shopping experience, pricing new inventory as it arrives,assisting customers, scheduling donation pick-up and deliveries, and testing electronic donations while representing the organization in a professional manner. The Thrift Store & Operations Support Supervisor will also assist in keeping the building and grounds of Caring & Sharing clean and orderly. Additionally, this position will support the organization with volunteer training activities and outside events as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Thrift Store Support:

  • Schedule and facilitate pick up of donations and deliveries of all furniture and large donations.
  • Assume responsibility of the Warehouse Associates for job accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Distribution of merchandise to various areas of the warehouse or building for further sorting and pricing.
  • Staging merchandise in an orderly, concise fashion.
  • Pricing donated merchandise.
  • Interacting and selling merchandise to the customers.
  • Assist customers with loading purchases and unloading donations from their vehicles.
  • Write sales tickets for customers as needed.
  • Set up deliveries and handle phone calls for donation pick-ups.
  • Testing of all electronic donations for workability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, uncluttered area behind warehouse counters.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and neat warehouse floor.
  • Follow safety procedures, utilize safety gear, and wear appropriate warehouse attire.

Food Pantry Support:

  • Staging materials for food distribution - three days a week.
  • Preparing and organizing sheds ahead of USDA deliveries.
  • Managing volunteers and placement of USDA food during twice per month deliveries.
  • Support pantry volunteers during bag packing by stocking and preparing the pantry.

Building, & Grounds Maintenance:

  • Keep the warehouse area clean and uncluttered.
  • Keep the front entry of the Thrifts Store neat, clean, and organized.
  • Help keep the parking areas and grounds clean and free of debris.
  • Assist in completing all end of day procedures.

Other Duties

  • Must be acquainted with other roles such as cash register, food pantry, etc.
  • May be asked to perform additional responsibilities for the Sorting Room or Pantry.

 Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Dependable transportation.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Retail and staging experience.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a leadership role.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a sorting room or warehouse.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Experience overseeing volunteers.

Working Conditions:

Caring and Sharing of South Walton functions as a warehouse and retail shop. The workplace setting is both in and outside of the warehouse. Tasks may be performed in various types of weather.

Physical Effort:

This is an extremely active position that requires standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and grasping.  Tasks related to this position also require stooping or crouching, climbing, kneeling, crawling, balancing, hearing, and talking.

This position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including furniture, household items, linens, tools, etc.

Requires the ability to lift 65 pounds and over 75 pounds with assistance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
