The Project Engineer&mdash;Preconstruction is an integral member of the preconstruction team, responsible for supporting the planning, estimating, and coordination of multifamily construction projects. This role is focused on learning and development while contributing to the team&rsquo;s success through detailed takeoffs, document management, etc. The Project Engineer&mdash;Preconstruction can be either an Operations employee who is rotating through the Preconstruction Department OR a new employee early in their career. Project Engineers&mdash;Preconstruction should work toward gaining experience with as many trades as possible during negotiated and competitive bids.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist in the preparation of project estimates by performing quantity takeoffs and gathering subcontractor input</li><li>Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to support scope creation and pricing</li><li>Collaborate with senior team members to develop accurate budgets and cost projections</li><li>Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and clarify scope details</li><li>Support the team in preparing bid packages and proposals for clients and stakeholders</li><li>Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables</li><li>Actively participate in training sessions, mentorship opportunities, and on-the-job learning to develop a deeper understanding of preconstruction processes and best practices</li></ul>Experience and Qualifications<ul><li>Proficiency in preconstruction software (Bluebeam, Building Connected, Construct Connect, Excel, etc)</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously</li><li>Eagerness to learn and contribute to the success of the preconstruction team</li><li>Capacity to navigate and read all Project Documents including plans, specifications, reports, etc.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>This position is one that primarily involves sitting/standing during the workday.</li><li>This position operates in a professional office environment. Project Engineer- Preconstruction

As a Preconstruction Associate, you will assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and bids for large-scale multifamily projects (typically $30M-$300M) from conceptual design through the issuance of final construction documents.
