</div><div>Under the general supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse, incumbents perform the following duties:</div><ul><li>
Triage students in the treatment room including but not limited to: physical assessment, obtain medical history and vital signs. Minor lab duties: throat cultures and dipstick urinalysis. Establish a nursing diagnosis and determine plan of care.
</li><li>Implement plan of care as outlined in the Physician's Standing Orders.
</li><li>Provide inpatient care: assessment of status and symptoms. Perform administration of medication and treatments ordered by the physician.
</li><li>Assume miscellaneous job-related duties that may occur.

<p></p><div>Subject to fingerprinting and criminal record clearance by the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation and Tuberculosis clearance. This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.</div><br>

<div>In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
</div><div>One year of hospital experience as a Registered Nurse. Pediatric acute care nursing experience preferred. Apply nursing care using the nursing process. Demonstrate skills related to observation, treatment and reassessment of patient symptoms. Ability to keep records, prepare reports and present reports during meetings. Demonstrate knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, medical terminology and medicines including narcotics. Proficiency in the use of American Sign Language is desirable.
