(DOQ) with an excellent benefits packageThe Centre Region Council of Governments is accepting applications for the position of Fire &amp; Life Safety Inspector/Firefighter, for Centre Region Code Administration &amp; Centre Region Fire Protection Program, which serves seven municipalities (population of 100,000) in Centre County.The Fire and Life Safety Inspector/Firefighter &ndash; Existing Structures position is responsible for a wide array of duties and responsibilities relating to the enforcement, interpretation, and application of building codes, fire codes, safety programs, etc. In addition to inspecting existing residential and commercial properties in the Centre Region, the position performs a variety of enforcement, education, inspecting, fire safety, and related functions. The position conducts special inspections relating to the safety and habitability of a structure following a fire or other event involving a compromise of the structure. Responsibilities also include after-hours and weekend support to the Alpha Fire Company as a Driver/Operator or Firefighter.
