People &amp; Culture Safety Generalist C.G. Landscape is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) proactive and detail-oriented People &amp; Culture Safety Generalist to support both safety initiatives and People &amp; Culture operations. This role position is responsible for promoting a safe and compliant workplace, managing employee relations and P&amp;C programs, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety coordination within outdoor or landscape operations, combined with experience in HR generalist functions such as workers&rsquo; compensation, performance management, and employee engagement.This role will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and employee well-being across all levels of the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs tailored to landscaping operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and California state regulations.</li><li>Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), site safety walks, and inspections to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.</li><li>Provide training on safe work practices, proper use of machinery and equipment, PPE, hazardous material handling (e.g., pesticides, fertilizers), and environmental risks (e.g., heat stress, weather conditions).</li><li>Lead or support accident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation of safety procedures, reports, and employee training certifications.</li></ul>Workers&rsquo; Compensation &amp; Insurance<ul><li>Manage workers&rsquo; compensation claims, coordinating with employees, managers, medical providers, and insurance carriers.</li><li>Ensure accurate documentation and support return-to-work and modified-duty programs.</li><li>Assist in managing company insurance policies (fleet, workers&rsquo; comp, liability, property, employer&rsquo;s liability).</li></ul>P&amp;C Generalist Support<ul><li>Provide day-to-day People &amp; Culture support in employee relations, conflict resolution, and policy enforcement.</li><li>Maintain employee documentation including files, performance reviews, and disciplinary records.</li><li>Serve as a backup for payroll administration and support compliance with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage requirements.</li><li>Provide guidance to employees regarding benefits, policies, and workplace issues.</li><li>Backup to manage and track employee leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, etc.), ensuring compliance and smooth return-to-work transitions.</li><li>Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and the employee handbook.</li><li>Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, including OSHA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other applicable regulations.</li><li>Prepare and submit required reporting (e.g., EEO, 5500).</li></ul>QualificationsEducation &amp; Certification<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).</li><li>OSHA 10/30 Train the Trainer Certification, or similar health &amp; safety certifications strongly preferred.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>3&ndash;5 years of combined experience in People &amp; Culture and Safety coordination, ideally within landscaping, construction, or outdoor services.</li><li>Proven ability to design, implement, and manage safety programs and P&amp;C processes.</li><li>Familiarity with Cal/OSHA, California labor laws, and federal HR/safety regulations.</li><li>Experience with payroll systems (Inova/UKG preferred) and certified payroll reporting a plus.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Abilities<ul><li>Strong knowledge of landscaping operations, equipment, and safety practices.</li><li>Excellent communication, training, and bilingual (Spanish/English) skills.</li><li>Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Ability to build relationships, foster trust, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems.</li></ul>Work Environment &amp; Physical Demands<ul><li>Office-based with frequent field visits to landscaping job sites and other company locations (Santa Fe Springs, Corona, San Bernardino).</li><li>Regular speaking, listening, and desk work; occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.</li><li>Exposure to outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions, during safety inspections and site visits.</li></ul>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time Exempt position, Monday to Friday, with regular office hours from 8 am to 5 pm.&middot; Salary: $60,000 - 68,640 based on experience, eligible for Quarterly Bonus after 90 days.&middot; Benefits: Health, dental, and vision benefits, Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
