Charleston Dermatology is seeking a resourceful, compassionate, and organized healthcare professional to join our team as a Patient Care Coordinator / Medical Assistant. This unique role blends administrative and clinical responsibilities to support our fast-growing practice and our mission to provide exceptional, patient-centered dermatologic care.The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision, demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic clinic environment, and deliver an outstanding patient experience.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Coordination:<ul><li>Manage prior authorizations for medications and treatments</li><li>Utilize various platforms such as CoverMyMeds, Tandem AI, pharmacy portals, and Klara for efficient coordination</li><li>Provide excellent customer service and communication with patients, pharmacies, and providers</li><li>Demonstrate resourcefulness in problem-solving and navigating insurance or authorization challenges</li></ul>Medical Assistant Responsibilities (as needed):<ul><li>Room patients and document medical histories, medications, and chief complaints</li><li>Assist providers during exams and procedures</li><li>Scribe visits directly into ModMed EMA (electronic medical records system)</li><li>Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and stock supplies</li><li>Educate patients on post-care instructions and treatment plans</li><li>Support clinical flow to ensure schedules run smoothly</li><li>Collaborate closely with providers and team members to maintain a high standard of care</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Prior medical assistant and/or scribe experience strongly preferred</li><li>Dermatology experience a plus, but training will be provided</li><li>Proficiency with electronic medical records; ModMed EMA experience preferred</li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment</li></ul>Schedule &amp; Location<ul><li>Full-time, in-person position based primarily in North Charleston, SC</li><li>May occasionally work in our Mount Pleasant (1090 Park West Blvd) and Berkeley (3508 S.
