Springfield United Methodist ChurchChristian Weekday Program Preschool DirectorJob descriptionAbout usChristian Weekday Program (CWP) is a ministry of Springfield United Methodist Church (SUMC) offering daytime and extended care classes for children ages 2-5. We are looking for a qualified Preschool Director to organize, lead and run the day-to-day operations of the CWP. The CWP Director would supervise the CWP staff and coordinate with the Lead Pastor, CWP Governance Board and church staff.Pay<ul><li>The director will be paid a maximum of 30 hours per week at $30 per hour</li><li>The director may receive up to five paid leave days annually (six hours paid each day)</li><li>The director will be paid on FCPS School Holidays (six hours/day)</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop curriculum for each age group, incorporating Christian principles and education.</li><li>Maintain a loving and caring Christian program.</li><li>Ensure child safety in accordance with legal and SUMC child safety guidelines.</li><li>Recruit, hire and train staff and teachers in coordination with CWP Governance Board and SUMC staff.</li><li>Maintain written policies, procedures and handbooks.</li><li>Ensure appropriate accreditation and certifications are current.</li><li>Supervise day-to-day CWP operations, staff and teachers.</li><li>Organize day-to-day schedules for students and teachers (classroom time, nap time, playground time, lunch time, chapel, safety drills, emergency drills, special activities, etc.)</li><li>Schedule field trips, camps, special events, and activities with time before the event for the staff to plan and provide lessons.</li><li>Assist teachers with student discipline, accidents and emergencies.</li><li>Promote CWP and grow enrollment, modifying programs as needed to meet community needs.</li><li>Attract and register students for current and upcoming school years.</li><li>Track children&rsquo;s progress and report to parents.</li><li>Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children&rsquo;s background and psyche.</li><li>Attend SUMC weekly staff meetings and serve as a liaison between CWP and church leadership</li><li>Evaluate and document teacher and staff performance.</li><li>Supervise the business aspects of CWP including building the budget, managing funds, approving expenses, and financial reporting.</li><li>Organize and execute special camps and events.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher and Leadership capabilities</li><li>Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods</li><li>Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms</li><li>Excellent communication and instructional skills</li><li>Ability to act as mediator between children and staff members</li><li>Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable</li><li>Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen</li><li>Business and financial management experience</li><li>Certification in child CPR</li><li>BS/BA in education or relevant field or preschool teacher certification</li></ul>Pay: $30.00 per hourWork Location: In person
