Citizens Medical Response is now hiring Ambulance Dispatch Specialists! We are seeking enthusiastic, hardworking, and dedicated individuals to join our growing team.Our Dispatch Specialists are expected to:<ul><li>Work as a team player&mdash;EMS is a team effort, and dispatch plays a vital role in system readiness and quality assurance.</li><li>Remain flexible, as work shift schedules may vary due to the nature of the business.</li><li>Coordinate daily work assignments and activities for EMTs.</li><li>Conduct themselves in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner at all times when interacting with patients, coworkers, supervisors, and the public.</li><li>Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls using our Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.</li><li>Provide exceptional customer service to medical facilities, the public, and our EMTs.</li><li>Accurately receive, document, and review transport details, patient information, and billing data.</li><li>Maintain a professional demeanor both in the office and on all phone communications.</li><li>Dispatch ambulances for scheduled transports while ensuring the appropriate level of medical care.</li><li>Support both sending and receiving facilities to ensure smooth and timely patient transfers.</li><li>Communicate promptly with a Supervisor regarding any issues or concerns that arise during the shift.</li><li>Obtain pre-transport insurance authorizations when required to support timely payment of services.</li><li>Understand medical insurance processes&mdash;knowledge of different insurances, authorizations, and coverage requirements is strongly preferred.</li></ul>Training Schedule: Two-week training program<ul><li>7 days of morning shifts</li><li>3 days of night shifts</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Dispatcher experience in a related field (EMS/clinical background preferred)</li><li>Tech-savvy with experience using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software</li><li>Fast and accurate typing with strong data entry skills</li><li>Knowledge of emergency procedures and response guidelines</li><li>Proficient in English (oral and written)</li><li>Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities</li><li>Strong communication skills and active listening abilities</li><li>Sound judgment and critical thinking</li><li>Preferred: Insurance background with understanding of medical insurance processes (authorizations, coverage types, and payer requirements)</li></ul>Incentives:<ul><li>A friendly work environment built on respect</li><li>A &ldquo;work hard&ndash;play hard&rdquo; culture</li><li>A supportive team that takes pride in helping patients</li><li>Opportunities for growth and professional development</li></ul>Work Location:<ul><li>One location</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: From $17.00 per hourPeople with a criminal record are encouraged to applyWork Location: In person
