OverviewJoin our dynamic team as a Deputy Clerk, a vital role dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of daily small city and administrative processes; taking water payments; answering telephones and booking building rentals. As a Deputy Clerk, you will serve as a key point of contact for the public, and local community. You will be a part of a very small team, providing exceptional clerical support and maintaining accurate records. Minimum of 2 years experience with accounts payable and accounts receivables is required. If you thrive in a multi-tasking environment and possess strong organizational skills, this role is your chance to make a meaningful impact while developing a valuable local governmental administrative experience.Some Duties<ul><li>Assist with the preparation, processing, and filing of documents, city records management, with precision and attention to detail</li><li>Manage incoming inquiries from the public, the Mayor, and other personnel via phone, email, or in person with professionalism and enthusiasm</li><li>Enter data accurately into city software management systems and maintain organized filing systems both physically and electronically</li><li>Handle clerical tasks such as data entry, document scanning, copying, and filing to uphold record integrity</li><li>Assist with cash handling duties related to fees or fines collection while maintaining strict accountability and accuracy</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Two years experience in accounting with payables, receivables; payroll and quarterly or annual reporting procedures</li><li>Excellent drafting skills for preparing correspondence, reports, or procedural documents</li><li>Demonstrated office experience with proficiency in word processing software such as Microsoft Word and data entry systems</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy</li><li>Previous clerical experience including filing, record keeping, and customer service is preferred</li><li>Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly with attention to detail and confidentiality</li></ul>This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow learn more about small local governments.
