Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Police &amp; Court Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the police department and municipal court.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist the Chief of Police with clerical tasks, statistical reporting, and data management</li><li>Provides administrative support for all Police Department and Municipal Court operations</li><li>Establish, update, and maintain police records in compliance with Kansas Statutes and departmental policies and procedures.</li><li>Catalog, secure, track, and maintain physical evidence</li><li>Attend and assist with all court proceedings</li><li>Process transactions related to Municipal Court and Police Department operations</li><li>Maintain required certifications</li><li>Serve as the KCJIS liaison</li><li>Promote the good will of the City</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Working knowledge of current practices in law enforcement and municipal government</li><li>Familiarity with ERP or municipal court software, preferably Tyler Technologies</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively</li><li>High level of accuracy in recording and maintaining data, with strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information</li></ul>Effective communication skills, both oral and written<ul><li>Ability to interact with the public in a firm, professional, and courteous manner</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer software applications</li></ul>Education<ul><li>High school diploma and two (2) years of college, technical training, or business-related coursework and/or experience</li><li>Preferred: Associate&rsquo;s or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in communications, business, marketing, criminal justice, or a related field</li><li>Knowledge in KCJIIS &amp; KIBRS</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience in criminal justice administration, business administration, office administration, or a related field</li><li>Experience with municipal court systems, ERP software, or law enforcement data management systems is highly preferred</li></ul>This position requires fingerprinting with KCJIS background check.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.65 - $29.17 per hourExpected hours: No more than 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>457(b)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
