The City of Maize is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional to serve as our next Municipal Court Clerk. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Municipal Court by maintaining court records, processing citations, managing financial transactions, and supporting the Municipal Judge during court proceedings.If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with the public, and have exceptional organizational skills, we encourage you to apply.Essential Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain accurate and confidential Municipal Court records.</li><li>Process citations from filing through final disposition.</li><li>Prepare court dockets, calendars, notices, warrants, and related documents.</li><li>Attend Municipal Court sessions and assist the Municipal Judge during proceedings.</li><li>Collect, receipt, reconcile, and deposit court fines, fees, and bonds.</li><li>Monitor diversion agreements, probation requirements, restitution, and payment plans.</li><li>Process warrants through the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System (KCJIS) and other applicable systems.</li><li>Coordinate with law enforcement, attorneys, the Municipal Judge, and City Prosecutor.</li><li>Provide outstanding customer service while interacting with defendants, attorneys, law enforcement personnel, and the public.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of sensitive court and criminal justice information.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li></ul>QualificationsRequired<ul><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative, clerical, or customer service experience.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn specialized court software.</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Experience working in a Municipal Court or judicial environment.</li><li>Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.</li></ul>Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.Special Requirements<ul><li>Must successfully complete fingerprint-based screening and maintain eligibility for access to the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System (KCJIS).</li><li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of criminal justice information.</li></ul>Why Join the City of Maize?The City of Maize is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Wichita metropolitan area.
