DEEL works to achieve this mission by administering the Families, Education, Preschool and Promise (FEPP) Levy via partnerships with Seattle Public Schools, Seattle-King County Public Health and diverse community-based organizations. As a representative of the Mayor and City Council, DEEL invests in programming to improve student outcomes and measures performance by tracking specific academic indicators. DEEL is a data-driven organization that practices ongoing quality improvement based on results.<br>

To support DEEL&rsquo;s mission and vision for Seattle, we are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting <b>Data and Evaluation Advisor.</b> In this role, you will play an integral role in the data team&rsquo;s efforts to support DEEL&rsquo;s kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) strategies efficiently and effectively, improving student outcomes by leading the planning, implementation, and management of investment monitoring and evaluation projects. You will support DEEL&rsquo;s leadership along with stakeholders by maintaining a largely project-based and dynamic workload with a wide array of responsibilities, including collecting and analyzing data, summarizing results, and communicating results and recommendations to key internal and external stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to effect positive change in the educational experiences of Seattle&rsquo;s youth as part of a dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment.</p></div><p></p>

Acting as the lead on K-12 quantitative data: its collection, storage, and analysis</li><li>
Supporting the development of K-12 data infrastructure</li><li>
Calculating performance metrics for K-12 programs</li></ul><p><b>
Here&rsquo;s more about what you&rsquo;ll be doing:</b></p><p>
Data management and reporting:</p><ul><li>
Working with technical and programmatic partners to implement a database solution for K-12 data collection</li><li>
Managing the flow of quantitative data from partners, to upload to a SQL database, to data cleaning and analysis, to workbooks published on Tableau Server</li><li>
Supporting the use of racial equity lens in data preparation, interpretation, analysis, and reporting to inform policy decisions and program implementation</li><li>
Implementing and maintaining a performance monitoring and data cleaning regime for K-12 programs: creating and maintaining Tableau workbooks using complex joins and calculations (fixed, table, etc.) and publishing them to Tableau server; working with IT staff to periodically update Tableau server user list and troubleshoot refresh issues; and incorporating stakeholder feedback to improve workbook activity.</li><li>
Completing ad hoc data analysis requests in a timely and efficient manner.</li><li>
Displaying complex data and information in a simple, visual, and understandable format for internal and external stakeholders using business intelligence tools including SQL, Tableau and MS Excel.</li></ul><br>
Program evaluation &amp; continuous quality improvement:<ul><li>
Managing overall project quality through the entire evaluation lifecycle: project planning and carrying out the design; research question formulation; data collection (e.g., templates, surveys, and other protocols); analysis; synthesis; and reporting</li><li>
Overseeing and conducting data management, coding, and analysis</li><li>
Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data for trends and process improvement opportunities.</li><li>
Collaborating strategically with internal and external partners to develop and track annual performance outcomes and indicators for K-12 school investments.</li><li>
Conducting longitudinal analysis to evaluate progress and impact.</li><li>
Conducting analyses and presenting results to inform discussions and decision-making regarding the City's K-12 strategies, as well as strategic planning efforts for the Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise (FEPP) Levy and new founding streams.</li></ul></div><p></p>

<p></p><div><p>You will be most successful in this role with a combination of the following:</p><p>
Experience in:</p><ul><li>
Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep and Tableau Server</li><li>
Data visualization, analytics, reporting &amp; data management</li><li>
Designing reporting dashboards</li><li>
K-12 education data and/or experience working with Seattle Public Schools data systems.</li><li>
Demonstrating your commitment to listening, creating space for diverse perspectives, and the pursuit of inclusive and just outcomes must be at the center of your professional practice.</li></ul><p>

<p></p><div><p>This Civil Service position is classified as a Strategic Advisor 1, Human Service. It is exempt from FLSA (not eligible for overtime).</p><p><b>
Salary</b>: The full pay range for this classification is $51.88 - $77.82 hourly. This pay range is reflective of the 2026 salary schedule. The hourly pay range for this individual position has been identified as $65.00 - $68.00.</p><p><b>
Hiring Timeline:</b><b> </b>Interviews for this position are tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 2, through Thursday, March 5, 2026, with an anticipated hire in late March to early April 2026.</p><p><b>

Data and Evaluation Advisor

The Seattle Police Department is seeking former law enforcement officers with at least ten years of commissioned law enforcement experience to work in the Investigations Bureau as Investigation Support Analysts. These positions will complete in-custody rush-file cases for court filings and respond to requests for more information from a prosecutors&rsquo; office. Cases would be prioritized based on the severity of the crime and the likelihood of the subject being held at first appearance.<br>
<br>
In addition, these positions will undertake analytical work to assist investigative units and patrol with thorough, precise, and timely information directly related to the furtherance of their criminal investigations to include, tracking and analyzing crime trends, providing statistical information, running criminal histories, requesting 911 recordings, releasing and/or re-releasing evidence housed in evidence.com to the prosecutor, all as necessary to perform the duties above or under the direction of a detective to assist with the completion of an investigation.</p></div>

<ul><li>Performs specific analysis for an investigation at the direction of a sworn detective utilizing specific department software.</li><li>Complete in-custody rush file cases for court filings.</li><li>Respond to requests for more information from a prosecutor&rsquo;s office.</li><li>Pulling criminal histories, requesting 911 recordings, releasing and/or re-releasing evidence housed in evidence.com to the prosecutor.</li><li>Accessing digital imprints related to persons and/or events that may contribute to broader investigations as well as identifying persons attempting to commit crimes using aliases, fraudulent identities, and usernames.</li><li>Tracking citywide criminal trends and patterns.</li><li>Monitoring criminal activity, performing analysis, and preparing reports utilizing crime data.</li><li>Providing threat assessments to the department based on internet and social media trends.</li><li>Producing hot sheets and reports associated with crime patterns.</li><li>Preparing weekly crime numbers reports and specialized maps.</li><li>Providing statistical information.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by sworn detectives and/or the chain of command.</li></ul></div></div>

Requires a bachelor&rsquo;s degree and four years of experience performing paralegal duties; or a certification from a nationally accredited paralegal training institution and five years related experience (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class). Must have demonstrated ability to lead projects and/or people.<br>

Desired Qualifications:<br>

Former law enforcement officer with at least 10 years of commissioned law enforcement experience (which is considered an equivalent background to perform the work of this position).<br>

New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $43.12 hourly. Current City employees&rsquo; starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules regarding promotions. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) regular position with full benefits. This is a Civil Service position eligible for overtime.<br>
