Our Criminal Court Services Department is searching for a dedicated and dynamic Courtroom Clerk - a role where no two days look the same!As a Courtroom Administrator in Criminal, you will receive in depth training on processing different court proceedings that take place in Criminal Court, handle evidence that comes in all shapes and sizes, administer oaths to witnesses and jurors, as well as sit next to the Judge on the bench. In Criminal Court, you will be exposed to sensitive material that may include autopsy &amp; crime scene photos, testimony of victims, narcotics, and weapons.What is a courtroom clerk? A courtroom clerk plays an integral part of our courtroom team by accurately preparing the official record of the hearing's events in a fast-paced environment. They work closely with judges, hearing officers, bailiffs, defense attorneys, prosecuting attorneys, interpreters and other criminal justice partners.** PAY PROGRESSION ELIGIBLE! **This position is eligible to receive a 5% increase to the hourly rate, which has already been added to the salary advertised. This 5% increase is awarded upon completion of the introductory period. The Criminal Courtroom Administrator position participates in a pay progression program that allows pay increases in phases for employees who are cross trained in all areas of Criminal Courts at the main Judicial Center (WPB). Total Compensation packages include:<ul><li>Generous paid time off and 17 paid holidays &ndash; yes you read that right!</li><li>Superior health care plans with lower costs to you</li><li>Retirement choices through the Florida Retirement System and deferred compensation plan</li><li>Award-Winning Wellness Program that gives employees incentives, tools, social support, and strategies to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement</li><li>Qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness</li></ul>Examples of Essential Functions<ul><li>Accurately record details of court proceedings entering items into database such as: court proceedings notes, hearing information and outcomes, trial proceedings and outcomes, bail bonds, motions, dispositions, parties involve, evidence, obligations, judgment, and sentence information.</li><li>Function as procedural and operational liaison, in the courtroom, between Judges, attorneys and the public.</li><li>Review all case files and database entries for accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Maintain flexibility and professionalism when fulfilling responsibilities for assigned courtroom and calendars.</li><li>Act as a team player by sharing knowledge and information on courtroom processes and procedures.</li><li>Handle multiple tasks, including listening, writing, scheduling court dates, answering questions, entering data, and monitoring the flow and electronic record of the court proceedings.</li><li>Cover all types of high-volume, fast-paced courtrooms either independently or as a team.</li><li>Adjust and maintain working knowledge of changing technology.</li><li>Ability to work overtime with little or no notice based on Judicial needs.</li></ul>Typical QualificationsAssociate&rsquo;s degree supplemented by three (3) years of recent and relevant experience required. In lieu of an Associate&rsquo;s degree, two (2) years of direct work experience and one (1) year of supplemental work experience is required. Must demonstrate the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data preferably in an automated systems environment.
