<div></div><div><div>The Plant Buyer is responsible for managing an assigned group of key raw material components and suppliers, playing a critical role in maintaining the balance between supply and demand for production and customer orders.</div>
<div></div><div><div><b>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES</b></div>
<ul><li>Placing and managing purchase orders with precision</li>
<li>Analyzing demand to optimize inventory levels</li>
<li>Ensuring on-time deliveries and coordinating with suppliers</li>
<li>Collaborating closely with the operations team to meet production schedules and customer order requirements</li>
<li>Completing transactional tasks such as reviewing order reports, validating lead times, and confirming purchase orders</li>
<li>Ensuring the accuracy of all order and inventory management-related ERP transactions, including updated estimated delivery dates costs, and purchase order confirmations</li>
<li>Sourcing and quoting new and existing parts to improve lead times, reduce costs, and enhance quality</li>
<li>Working with Accounts Payable to ensure invoice/purchase order reconciliation</li>
<li>First point of contact with suppliers to improve lead times, cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance</li>
<li>Keeping status reports for key production parts up to date</li>
<li>Assisting the Plant Manager with sourcing and quoting parts as required</li>
<li>Incorporating lean manufacturing principles into the purchasing process and work flow</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned
</li></ul><div><b>REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES</b></div>
<ul><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy</li>
<li>Proficiency in the basics of Excel</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience operating in ERP systems is a strongly preferred</li>
<li>An optimistic outlook and a team-oriented attitude</li>
</ul><div><b>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</b></div>
<ul><li>HS Diploma or GED</li>
<li>Associate&rsquo;s and/or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
</li><li>3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing plant</li>
<li>Experience in multiple commodity purchasing is a plus</li>

<div>This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions and/or hazardous conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk occasionally (including in the plant); near vision acuity for computer work; ability to communicate clearly through verbal interactions on the phone and in person; and fine motor skills to operate a keyboard/mouse and other office equipment.
