We are looking to fill a full-time position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly energetic and can handle a fast-paced environment. The successful person in this position will be self-motivated, proactive, energetic, and willing to support all members of our team at Co-op Supply.RESPONSIBLITIESThe Purchasing Specialist will understand all aspects of the retail supply chain, including systems and processes. They will implement vendor development, product selection and retail purchasing in a manner that will optimize the cooperative&rsquo;s market share and savings, improve the cooperative&rsquo;s efficiency and help achieve the cooperative&rsquo;s mission and goals.<ul><li>Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.</li><li>Answer phones, direct calls and respond to inquiries.</li><li>Utilize knowledge of computer programs and report systems to aid in maintaining stock levels and accurate inventory.</li><li>Implementation of Co-op&rsquo;s strategies for seasonal goods and inventory.</li><li>Help maintain plans for stock levels.</li><li>Help monitor supplier performance.</li><li>Assist store associates with questions and problems.</li><li>Formalizing the purchase of merchandise (preparing and editing all PO&rsquo;s).</li><li>Check on shipment &amp; delivery status of PO's.</li><li>Analyzing sales reports and proposing actions such as exit strategy&rsquo;s.</li><li>Maintain positive, open communication with management, retail operations and staff.</li><li>Participate in staff meetings and communicate information on computer knowledge, problems, inventory issues, safety and security topics.</li><li>Regularly communicate department updates and concerns to management.</li><li>Positively communicate with vendors to solicit price lists, invoices and resolve any discrepancies.</li><li>Provide a high level of customer and employee service by following company standards.</li><li>Promptly assess and respond to customer and employee inquiries and complaints.</li><li>Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.</li></ul>SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Excellent knowledge of products.</li><li>Ability to build strong relationships and works well within a team.</li><li>Possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Make the best decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and evaluating results.</li><li>Utilize time management skills to maximize productivity; ability to prioritize workload independently</li><li>Pays attention to detail, possesses strong organizational skills and shows a high level of accuracy.</li><li>Become proficient with Windows-based computer software, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher and Epicor.</li></ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS <ul><li>Ability to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds</li></ul>Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hourWork Location: In person
