 Position Summary
 
 
 The Medical Assistant will support our providers by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced primary care setting. The ideal candidate is organized, friendly, and dedicated to creating a positive experience for every patient.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Administer injections, vaccines, and perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing as appropriate.
 </li>
 <li>
 Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
 </li>
 <li>
 Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
 </li>
 <li>
 Process prescription refill requests and communicate with pharmacies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Answer patient phone calls and portal messages professionally.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control standards are followed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with prior authorizations and other administrative tasks as needed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

 Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 High school diploma or equivalent required.
 </li>
 <li>
 Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous experience in a primary care or family medicine practice preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with EMR systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices.

 Education:
 
 High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for specific specialty if working in specialty department; e.g., pediatric medical assistant exam.
 
 
 
 Experience:
 
 Minimum five (5) years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience.
 
 
 
 Other Requirements:
 
 Current documentation of medical assistant certification required. Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
