<p>
Code Platoon is a nonprofit coding bootcamp that prepares <b>Veterans, active-duty Servicemembers, military spouses, and adult military children</b> for high-growth careers in software development. Since 2016, we&rsquo;ve graduated more than 700 students into roles at companies such as Amazon, JPMorgan Chase, and DRW. Our mission-first culture combines rigorous training with personalized career support to unlock economic mobility for the military community.</p>

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What You&rsquo;ll Do</b></h3>
<p>
This new position brings Code Platoon closer to its roots. As the <b>Recruitment Coordinator &ndash; Chicago</b>, you&rsquo;ll connect local Veterans, military spouses, and dependents to tech careers through our programs. You&rsquo;ll lead grassroots recruitment across the Chicago and Illinois region hosting events, cultivating partnerships, and supporting email and content marketing that drives applications nationwide.</p>

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Key Responsibilities</b></h3>
<p><b>
Community Outreach &amp; Events</b></p>
Build and maintain relationships with Veteran service organizations, community colleges, and employers.<br>
<ul><li>
</li>
Identify and attend recruiting and hiring events; coordinate Code Platoon&rsquo;s presence through tabling, speaking, and sponsorships.<br>
<li>
</li>
<li>Host small-scale events such as <i>Learn to Code</i> workshops and open houses.</li><br>
</ul>
<p><b>Recruitment &amp; CRM Management</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Capture and manage contacts in <b>HubSpot</b> with accurate tagging and follow-up workflows.<br>
</li>
<li>Support reporting and data integrity across local and national recruitment efforts.</li><br>
</ul>
<p><b>Email Marketing &amp; Automation</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and launch <b>email campaigns and drip workflows</b> in HubSpot for local and national prospects.<br>
</li>
Write and edit custom email content that encourages prospects to apply.<br>
<li>
</li>
<li>Monitor performance and recommend improvements to boost engagement and conversion.</li><br>
</ul>
<p><b>Marketing &amp; Content Support</b></p>
Collaborate with the Content Manager to produce stories, photos, and updates for social media and the website.<br>

Assist with website and social media content management in support of recruitment goals.<br>
<li>
</li>
<li>Identify community advertising opportunities that amplify Code Platoon&rsquo;s local presence.</li><br>
</ul>
<p><b>Collaboration &amp; Reporting</b></p>
Participate in weekly Marketing meetings, Operations stand-ups, and Development touchpoints.<br>

Contribute metrics to monthly Marketing Scorecards and quarterly grant reports.<br>

</ul><p></p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Qualifications</b></h3>
<p><b>
Required</b></p>
1&ndash;3 years of experience in outreach, event coordination, marketing, or community engagement.<br>
<ul><li>
</li>
<li>Strong connection to the <b>Veteran or military family community</b> (Veteran, spouse, or dependent preferred).<br>
</li>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable representing Code Platoon publicly.<br>
<li>
</li>
Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.<br>
<li>
</li>
Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM and marketing automation tools.<br>
<li>
</li>
Based in the Chicago area with reliable transportation for local travel (30&ndash;40 %).<br>
<li>
</li>
<li><b>Ability to transport and set up event materials, signage, and giveaways (up to 25 lbs).</b></li><br>
</ul>
<p><b>Preferred</b></p>
Experience in education, workforce development, or nonprofit marketing.<br>
<ul><li>
</li>
Exposure to email marketing, content creation, or social media management.<br>
<li>
</li>
Interest in technology or tech career pathways.<br>
<li>
</li>

<ul><li><b>Salary:</b> $42,000 &ndash; $47,000 per year, commensurate with experience.<br>
</li>
