Overview:Tremendously busy in-house legal department seeking a uniquely qualified attorney to assist our general counsel with a host of litigation and transactional matters for a conglomerate of companies servicing the logistics industry.Primary Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Conduct litigation (draft pleadings, conduct discovery, appear in court, etc.);</li><li>Manage transactional matters (draft and negotiate contracts, etc.);</li><li>Provide comprehensive support and legal advice to our clients and their business leaders;</li><li>Conduct legal research and keep abreast of current laws/regulations effecting business lines to ensure compliance; and</li><li>Provide general assistance in a variety of tasks to the general counsel all in support of the legal department.</li></ul>Focused Areas of Practice (in order of priority):<ul><li>Real Estate (real estate development, tax appeals, and commercial purchases and sales)</li><li>Civil litigation (breach of contract)</li><li>Transactional (contract review, drafting, and negotiation)</li></ul>Required Skillset:<ul><li>Extremely organized, efficient, astute with a can-do attitude, and a great sense of humor.</li><li>Clear and concise writer with critical thinking capabilities and a strong work-ethic.</li><li>Quick learner who is unafraid to try something new.</li><li>Patient and enjoys helping others.</li><li>Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Works collaboratively with a variety of personalities/nationalities/ethnic groups.</li></ul>Basic Job Requirements:<ul><li>Licensed attorney in the State of Illinois.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of legal experience.</li><li>Proficient with Word, Excel, Westlaw, and all traditional office software and equipment.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Compass Holding, LLC has a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, optional disability, and life insurance.
