Rockbridge County Fire-Rescue is a combination system that responds to dynamic fire and medical emergencies in the Rockbridge County area. We are seeking applicants who value working in a team environment, are focused on serving the community, and have a desire to participate in innovative training and development.Open positions includeFull Time : Firefighter-EMT Recruit, Firefighter-EMT (B, A or I), Firefighter-ParamedicPart-Time: EMS Only (EMT- B, EMT-A, Intermediates, Paramedics) and dual certified Firefighter-EMSEmployees of Rockbridge County Fire-Rescue work a 24-hour schedule ( west coast style) and are offered competitive pay, employer-paid health insurance, hazardous duty retirement, paid sick and vacation time, and training opportunities .Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and valid Virginia Driver&rsquo;s License, VA EMS/BLS certification, NIMS and ICS certification(s), EVOC and CPR. VDFP Firefighter I is required for full-time positions.Employees of Rockbridge County Fire-Rescue:<ul><li>Collaborate with the County Volunteer Fire/EMS agencies to maintain efficient delivery of services to the citizens of the County.</li><li>Prepare various reports and other types of correspondence; maintains records and files.</li><li>Develop and maintains working relationships with local, County, State, Federal agencies; maintains compliance with policies and regulations.</li><li>Provide Life Support to patients.</li><li>Drive and operate SUV's, ambulances, as needed on non-emergent and emergent incidents. Attends various meetings.</li><li>Respond to emergencies and non-emergencies, natural, and or manmade disasters and provides EMS services; operates necessary equipment.</li><li>Utilize a variety of tools and instruments regarding patient care, patient access.</li><li>Assist in maintaining and repairing apparatus, equipment, fire-rescue stations, and grounds as necessary.
