 The Graphic Designer is a key member of the marketing team, responsible for creating visual content that communicates the organization&rsquo;s message and strengthens its brand. This role supports both print and digital design, photography, website content, and overall brand development. Key Responsibilities</b></div><div><b>
1. Graphic Design &amp; Visual Content Creation</b></div><ul><li>
Create visually compelling graphics for marketing materials including brochures, flyers, posters, digital ads, social media, email campaigns, and website banners.</li><li>
Develop and implement creative design concepts that align with brand guidelines and target audience preferences.</li><li>
Illustrate design concepts by producing rough layouts of art and copy, considering arrangement, size, typography, and overall aesthetic.</li><li>
Ensure all final designs meet high quality standards and are delivered on schedule.</li><li>
Assist with updates to the Science Center&rsquo;s website, including uploading content, maintaining design consistency, and supporting user experience improvements.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
2. Collaboration &amp; Project Support</b></div><ul><li>
Work closely with the marketing team to understand project goals, messaging, and creative direction.</li><li>
Provide design expertise during brainstorming sessions, campaign development, and promotional planning.</li><li>
Adapt and revise existing materials based on feedback and evolving needs.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
3. Photography &amp; Image Editing</b></div><ul><li>
Capture and edit high-quality images for use across print and digital platforms.</li><li>
Maintain an organized photo library and ensure visual assets are current and aligned with the brand image.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
4. Industry Awareness &amp; Best Practices</b></div><ul><li>
Stay up-to-date on graphic design trends, tools, and best practices.</li><li>
Seek continuous improvement in design approach, software skills, and visual storytelling techniques.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Qualifications</b></div><div></div><div><b><br>
Required:</b></div><ul><li>
Proven experience as a graphic designer or in a similar creative role.</li><li>
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).</li><li>
Strong understanding of layout, color theory, and typography.</li><li>
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>
A portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Preferred:</b></div><ul><li>
Experience with photography and photo editing.</li><li>
Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS).</li><li>
Experience with motion graphics or video editing is a plus.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Work Environment &amp; Expectations</b></div><ul><li>
This is a fast-paced, creative role requiring flexibility and responsiveness to shifting priorities.</li><li>
The Graphic Designer should be comfortable receiving feedback from multiple stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees, and be able to revise work based on preference rather than performance. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a solution-oriented approach are essential.&rdquo;</li><li>
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required around campaign launches or special events.</li><li>
Must be able to lift at least 80lbs.</li></ul></div>
