Diesel Mechanic (Full-Time)Pay: Starting at $28.00 - $30.00 per hour Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday&ndash;Friday, 7:30 AM &ndash; 4:30 PM (1-hour lunch) Overtime: As needed, including occasional Saturdays Location: Channelview, TXRequirements (Must-Have)<ul><li>STRONG experience working on Freightliner semi-trucks (Columbia &amp; Cascadia)</li><li>STRONG experience working on 48&rsquo; &amp; 53&rsquo; trailers (brakes, air systems, structural components)</li><li>MUST own your own tools.</li><li>Ability to diagnose AND fully repair ANY mechanical or electrical issue from start to finish</li><li>Ability to work independently with little to no supervision</li></ul>Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled, well-rounded Diesel Mechanic who can handle ALL aspects of equipment repair and maintenance. This is not an entry-level position&mdash;we are looking for a true &ldquo;do-it-all&rdquo; mechanic who is confident diagnosing and repairing issues across multiple types of equipment with 5 years of experience.While this role involves working on a wide variety of equipment, a heavy emphasis is placed on Freightliner semi-trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate is extremely comfortable and experienced in these areas while still being capable of working on all other equipment in the fleet.Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain Freightliner Columbia and Cascadia trucks (HIGH PRIORITY)- Perform full repairs on 48&rsquo; and 53&rsquo; trailers including brake systems, air systems, and components- Replace and repair ALL mechanical and electrical components as needed- Perform complete brake jobs including chambers, drums, shoes, and air system repairs- Diagnose and repair DEF systems, electrical faults, fuel systems, and hydraulic systems- Work on light-duty trucks (F150, F250, F350)- Service and repair heavy equipment including wheel loaders (John Deere 644K, CAT 966H, CAT 962G)- Operate and repair forklifts (Taylor, Hyster, CAT, etc.)- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals- Identify, source, and order correct parts independently- Perform preventative maintenance and full system diagnostics- Operate manual transmission trucks and connect/disconnect trailers safelyRequirements- Minimum 3&ndash;5 years of diesel mechanic experience- Extremely strong diagnostic ability (mechanical &amp; electrical)- Proven ability to complete repairs from start to finish without assistance- Strong knowledge of Freightliner trucks and trailer systems- Ability to operate heavy equipment (forklifts and wheel loaders)- Ability to drive manual transmission trucks- Own tools REQUIRED- Strong computer skills and ability to use maintenance software- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a non-A/C environment- Reliable transportation- Must pass a background check and drug screeningPreferred Qualifications- CDL (not required but a plus) - Welding and fabrication experience - Experience with advanced diagnostic scan tools - Fleet maintenance experienceWhy Join Us- Competitive pay with overtime opportunities - Consistent, full-time schedule - Work on a wide variety of equipment - Opportunity for growth and advancement - Team-oriented shop environmentJob Type: Full-timePay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>People with a criminal record are encouraged to applyAbility to Commute:<ul><li>Channelview, TX 77530 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Channelview, TX 77530: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
