Job Description: Materials ManagerPosition Summary The Materials Supervisor leads a small, high-impact materials team in a fast-paced, competitive environment. This position balances hands-on execution with tactical thinking&mdash;coordinating forklift drivers and waterspiders while also designing processes, planning space usage, and anticipating future material needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, and capable of zooming in to resolve issues on the floor and zooming out to see the bigger picture, ensuring the warehouse supports production not just today but for tomorrow&rsquo;s challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Coordination &amp; Leadership<ul><li>Directly coordinate a team of 2 forklift drivers and 3 waterspiders, setting daily priorities and ensuring smooth material flow.</li><li>Motivate the team with energy and clarity, keeping pace with a demanding production schedule.</li><li>Build accountability and teamwork, encouraging healthy competition and continuous improvement.</li></ul>Material Flow &amp; Operations<ul><li>Oversee receiving, put-away, picking, staging (&ldquo;dressing&rdquo; lines), internal transfers, shipping, and returns.</li><li>Respond quickly to urgent needs while maintaining order and process discipline.</li><li>Balance hands-on participation with tactical oversight&mdash;jumping in when needed but keeping focus on systemic performance.</li></ul>Inventory Accuracy &amp; Problem-Solving<ul><li>Lead cycle counts and ensure &gt;98% inventory accuracy.</li><li>Investigate discrepancies thoroughly, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.</li><li>Maintain clean ERP data for real-time visibility of inventory levels.</li></ul>Strategic Perspective &amp; Process Design<ul><li>Zoom out to analyze overall material flow, warehouse layout, and space utilization&mdash;making changes that prepare for future growth.</li><li>Zoom in to troubleshoot bottlenecks, quality issues, or material shortages in real time.</li><li>Anticipate future production demands and proactively plan materials strategy to prevent disruptions.</li></ul>Cross-Functional Collaboration<ul><li>Act as the primary link between warehouse, production, scheduling, and purchasing teams.</li><li>Ensure lines are continuously stocked to minimize downtime and meet on-time delivery goals.</li><li>Provide excellent &ldquo;customer service&rdquo; to production while holding firm to process standards.</li><li>Able to lift or maneuver up to 50 - 75lbs</li></ul>Continuous Improvement &amp; Safety<ul><li>Implement lean tools (5S, Kanban, visual controls) to improve efficiency and reduce waste.</li><li>Lead or participate in kaizen events, always looking for a better way to do the job.</li><li>Uphold all OSHA and company safety standards, maintaining a safe, organized, and audit-ready environment.</li></ul>Compensation<ul><li>Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 depending on experience</li><li>9 paid holidays</li><li>Starting PTO of 2 weeks/yr, accrued throughout the calendar year</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>Health Insurance eligible after 1 month of employment.</li><li>Paid holidays (9 per year) after 3 months</li><li>401k eligible within 3 to 6 months</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
