Dispatch Officer

Position SummaryThe QC Lab Technician is responsible for performing polymer and petrochemical laboratory testing, analyses, and quality control checks on raw materials (e.g., PET resin), semi-finished products (sheets, preforms), and finished thermoforming products. The role ensures that all materials and products meet the company&rsquo;s technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and product quality standards.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Testing &amp; Analysis</li><li>Perform physical, chemical, and mechanical testing of PET resin, preforms, sheets, and thermoformed products.</li><li>Conduct tests such as melt flow index (MFI), intrinsic viscosity (IV), density, color (haze, yellowness), moisture content, crystallinity, tensile strength, etc.</li><li>Analyze additives, stabilizers, and possible contaminants.</li><li>Use spectroscopic techniques (FTIR, UV-Vis), chromatography (if applicable), and other polymer characterization methods.</li><li>Quality Control / Assurance</li><li>Verify that raw materials (PET resin) comply with supplier specifications.</li><li>Check in-process materials and final products for compliance with internal and customer specifications.</li><li>Monitor batch-to-batch consistency.</li><li>Support in troubleshooting quality issues &mdash; e.g., off-spec products, rejects, failures.</li><li>Documentation &amp; Reporting</li><li>Prepare and maintain detailed lab reports, test data, and certificates of analysis (CoA).</li><li>Record and interpret data; trend analysis to support continuous improvement.</li><li>Ensure documentation complies with relevant standards (e.g., food safety, ISO, regulatory).</li><li>Assist in internal and external audits (customer audits, regulatory audits).</li><li>Calibration &amp; Maintenance</li><li>Ensure lab instruments (e.g., viscometers, spectrometers, moisture analyzers) are calibrated and maintained.</li><li>Perform routine maintenance and calibration, document results, and coordinate with the lab manager or external calibration services.</li><li>Safety &amp; Compliance</li><li>Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols in the lab.</li><li>Ensure chemical handling is done safely, in compliance with SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and waste disposal procedures.</li><li>Contribute to the continuous improvement of the lab&rsquo;s safety practices and quality systems.</li><li>Collaboration</li><li>Work closely with production, R&amp;D, and operations teams to support quality improvement and problem-solving.</li><li>Provide technical input for process optimization.</li><li>Assist in new product development or product changes by performing lab trials, stability testing, etc.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Skills<ul><li>Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.</li><li>Experience: 3&ndash;5 years (or more) in a polymer / petrochemical lab setting, preferably working with PET or similar polymers.</li><li>Technical Skills:</li><li>Knowledge of polymer testing methodologies (MFI, IV, DSC, TGA, FTIR, etc.).</li><li>Familiarity with lab instrumentation and data analysis.</li><li>Good understanding of petrochemical raw material properties.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
