<div><div><div>This position assists one or more tradesmen by performing specific or general duties of lesser skills, such as keeping a mechanic supplied with materials and tools; cleaning work areas, machines and equipment; assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed. Work is performed under the direction of a journeyman working on air conditioning, heating and ventilating systems for commercial and industrial applications. The helper reports to the Service Manager.</div></div><br>

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:</p><ul><li><ul><li>
Assists HVAC Mechanic or Journeyman in repairing mechanical and electrical systems for heating and cooling equipment.</li><li>
Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of heating and cooling equipment.</li><li>
Periodically monitors and inspects heating and cooling systems to ensure continued proper operation.
</li><li>Picks up and delivers parts and material required for job needs.</li><li>
Investigates heating and air conditioning complaints; performs minor repairs</li><li>
Installs air and water filters on various equipment.</li><li>
Assesses drain problems and performs any needed repairs.</li><li>
Follows all safety practices and adheres to all safety related policies.</li><li>
Fills out forms related to the work such as purchase orders and maintenance records.</li></ul></li><li>
Performs related duties as assigned</li></ul><p></p><p>

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:</p><ul><li>
High School diploma or equivalent preferred</li><li>
Minimum of 6 months experience in the plumbing and pipefitting and /or HVAC mechanical equipment or graduate of trade school.</li><li>
Working knowledge of hand tools.</li><li>
Some knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations applicable to the trade.</li></ul><p></p><p><i>
SKILLS/ABILITIES:</i></p><ul><li>
Mechanic Aptitude</li><li>
Excellent communication and listening skills</li><li>
Able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. and physically fit enough to work for periods of time in crawlspaces, wall voids, and attics.</li><li>
Current driver&rsquo;s license and clean driving record.</li><li>
Able to obtain a US government clearance.</li><li>
Team oriented</li></ul></div><p></p>
