HVAC Helper

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• • Assists HVAC Mechanic or Journeyman in repairing mechanical and electrical systems for heating and cooling equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of heating and cooling equipment.
  • Periodically monitors and inspects heating and cooling systems to ensure continued proper operation.
  • Picks up and delivers parts and material required for job needs.
  • Investigates heating and air conditioning complaints; performs minor repairs
  • Installs air and water filters on various equipment.
  • Assesses drain problems and performs any needed repairs.
  • Follows all safety practices and adheres to all safety related policies.
  • Fills out forms related to the work such as purchase orders and maintenance records.
• Performs related duties as assigned

• PMs are completed as assigned
• Positive relations with coworkers and customers
• Safe practices and procedures observed
• Work areas and tools are kept clean

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 6 months experience in the plumbing and pipefitting and /or HVAC mechanical equipment or graduate of trade school.
• Working knowledge of hand tools.
• Some knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations applicable to the trade.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Mechanic Aptitude
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. and physically fit enough to work for periods of time in crawlspaces, wall voids, and attics.
• Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Able to obtain a US government clearance.
• Team oriented
