Hotel Maintenance Technician / Handyman Job DescriptionPosition Title: Hotel Maintenance Technician / HandymanReports To: Director of Operations / Chief Engineer / General ManagerPosition SummaryThe Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and exterior grounds to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members. This position performs general repairs, preventative maintenance, and responds promptly to maintenance requests.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance<ul><li>Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.</li><li>Complete guest room maintenance requests/calls in a timely manner.</li><li>Inspect hotel facilities and identify maintenance needs.</li><li>Assist with preventative maintenance programs.</li><li>Maintain maintenance logs and work orders.</li></ul>Painting &amp; Wall Repairs<ul><li>Perform painting, staining, and touch-up work in guest rooms and public areas.</li><li>Repair drywall damage, holes, dents, and scratches.</li><li>Sand, patch, and prepare surfaces before painting.</li><li>Match paint colors and maintain hotel appearance standards.</li></ul>Carpentry &amp; Door Repairs<ul><li>Repair and adjust guest room and exterior doors.</li><li>Replace door hardware, locks, hinges, closers, and handles.</li><li>Repair furniture, cabinetry, and millwork as needed.</li><li>Install shelves, fixtures, and other hardware.</li></ul>HVAC &amp; Air Conditioning<ul><li>Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on HVAC and air conditioning systems.</li><li>Replace filters and maintain HVAC equipment.</li><li>Monitor heating and cooling systems for proper operation.</li><li>Report major HVAC issues requiring specialized service.</li></ul>Plumbing<ul><li>Repair leaking faucets, toilets, sinks, and shower fixtures.</li><li>Unclog drains and toilets.</li><li>Replace plumbing components as needed.</li><li>Respond promptly to plumbing-related guest concerns.</li></ul>Electrical<ul><li>Replace light bulbs, ballasts, switches, and outlets.</li><li>Troubleshoot basic electrical issues.</li><li>Maintain lighting throughout the property.</li><li>Follow all safety procedures when working with electrical systems.</li></ul>Grounds &amp; Exterior Maintenance<ul><li>Maintain cleanliness and appearance of hotel grounds.</li><li>Perform minor landscaping duties as needed.</li><li>Remove debris and ensure walkways are safe.</li><li>Assist with seasonal property maintenance.</li></ul>Safety &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Follow all OSHA and hotel safety guidelines.</li><li>Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.</li><li>Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards.</li><li>Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of painting, drywall repair, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.</li><li>Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, climb, and walk for extended periods.</li><li>Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.</li></ul>Preferred Skills<ul><li>HVAC certification preferred but not required.</li><li>Experience with preventative maintenance programs.</li><li>Hotel maintenance experience strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong customer service and communication skills.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50-100 pounds.</li><li>Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.</li><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.</li><li>Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.</li></ul>Pay: Based on experience, starting at $17.00Pay: From $17.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
