Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial records. Your expertise will support the organization&rsquo;s financial health by maintaining precise bookkeeping practices, preparing financial statements, and assisting with various accounting processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving organization committed to excellence and integrity in financial management.Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain accurate general ledger entries, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.</li><li>Assist with revenue recognition across multiple streams (fuel sales, EV charging, in-store retai</li><li>Reconcile point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash transactions across multiple locations, ancillary services)</li><li>Support accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoicing, fleet billing, and collections</li><li>Reconcile bank statements and perform monthly closing procedures in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).</li><li>Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting to support organizational decision-making.</li><li>Support tax preparation activities by maintaining accurate records of tax-related transactions and assisting with filings.</li><li>Conduct data entry with precision, including double-entry bookkeeping and 10-key typing tasks.</li><li>Collaborate on internal audits and participate in internal control reviews to uphold financial integrity skills.</li><li>Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP and vast experience in travel centers, truck stops, C-Store, or retail environment.</li><li>Strong knowledge and proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks or similar and other financial management tools.</li><li>Ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and general ledger accounting accurately.</li><li>Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, debits &amp; credits, and account analysis.</li><li>Excellent math skills combined with strong attention to detail for data entry and account analysis tasks.</li><li>Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments, such as operations, site managers, and external partners and prepare clear financial reports.</li><li>Join us in a role where your expertise will directly impact our organization&rsquo;s financial stability!
