 Job Purpose
 
 The Planning Engineer (PMC) is responsible for providing specialist project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring support across all phases of the pipeline and reservoir construction contract. Acting as the client&rsquo;s representative within the PMC team, the role ensures that construction activities are logically sequenced, resource-loaded, and aligned with contractual milestones, while proactively identifying risks, delays, and opportunities for optimisation.

 Develop &amp; Maintain Project Schedules &ndash;
 
 Prepare and update detailed baseline schedules, construction programmes, and progress curves in accordance with contract requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Monitor &amp; Report Progress &ndash;
 
 Track actual performance against planned timelines, identifying variances and recommending recovery actions where required.
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Support Decision-Making &ndash;
 
 Provide management with accurate planning data and forecasts to support informed decision-making and contract compliance.
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Coordinate with Disciplines &ndash;
 
 Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, and commercial teams to ensure schedule integration across all project activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Risk &amp; Opportunity Management &ndash;
 
 Analyse schedule risks, highlight potential delays, and support the development of mitigation strategies to safeguard project delivery.
 </li>
 <li>
 
 Enable Timely Handover &ndash;
 
 Ensure all planning deliverables, including schedules, look-ahead programmes, and final as-built schedules, are available for commissioning and client handover.

 &nbsp; Functional Responsibilities
 
 &nbsp;
 
 
 
 1. Schedule Development &amp; Maintenance
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Prepare, update, and maintain baseline project schedules in line with contractual requirements and approved execution strategies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity coding to support accurate progress tracking.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure schedules reflect realistic durations, resources, and sequencing of all pipeline, reservoir, and related works.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 2. Progress Monitoring &amp; Reporting
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Track actual project performance against baseline schedules, identifying delays, slippages, and opportunities for recovery.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare and issue weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc progress reports for PMC and client management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Generate progress S-curves, dashboards, and performance indices (SPI, CPI) to support transparent reporting.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 3. Forecasting &amp; Risk Analysis
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Conduct schedule forecasting and provide early warnings of potential risks or delays.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support risk analysis by identifying critical activities, float consumption, and dependencies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Recommend schedule mitigation measures and recovery plans to maintain project delivery dates.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 4. Coordination &amp; Integration
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, and commercial teams to integrate their inputs into the master schedule.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure alignment of contractor schedules with the PMC master programme.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support interface management between pipeline, reservoir, and related utility works.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 5. Contractor Oversight
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Review EPC contractor schedules, manpower histograms, and progress reports for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Validate contractor claims for extensions of time (EOT) against actual project data.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor contractor look-ahead programmes to ensure readiness for upcoming activities.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 6. Documentation &amp; Compliance

 Maintain accurate records of schedule baselines, updates, and revisions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure all planning documentation complies with PMC procedures, NWC/EXPRO standards, and ISO quality requirements.

 Support audits and contractual reviews by providing traceable planning data.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 7. Handover &amp; Project Close-Out

 Prepare final and close-out reports for submission to the client.

 Contribute to lessons-learned documentation by identifying planning successes and improvement areas.
